GITAM earmarks 15% of seats for international students under foreign/NRI category which includes foreign citizens, PIO Card Holders, OCI (Overseas Citizens of India), Non-Resident Indians and NRI sponsored students (sponsored by NRI parents, parents’ brother/sister* and candidates brother/sister*).

Admissions are based on the candidate's performance in the 10+2 of India or equivalent examination and satisfying the guidelines set forth by the governing councils for medical, dental, nursing, pharmacy, allied health, engineering, architecture, etc.

International students are not required to take the entrance examination conducted for resident Indian students for all courses except medical (MBBS), dental (BDS) and architecture (B Arch). Admission is will be on a first-come basis based on merit as per the marks/grades obtained in the 10+2 of India or equivalent examination.

Admission to the MBBS and BDS courses, will be on the basis of the rank obtained in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET and counseling /allotment of seats by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), New Delhi. Foreign citizens, OCI, PIO and Non- Resident Indians can write NEET.

Admission of the Bachelor of Architecture ( B Arch) is on the basis of the rank obtained in the All Indian National Aptitude Test for Architecture ( NATA) which is conducted by the Council of Architects of India (COA).

Foreign citizens with PIO or OCI and Non-Resident Indians can also apply under general category. Applications are separate for both the categories. However, candidates who have confirmed their admission under Foreign/NRI category cannot shift to General Category under any circumstances.
